Men Do Talk – Liverpool Street, London

  • Train Station Liverpool Street London, England, EC2M 7PY United Kingdom (map)

What happens when you stop talking at men and just start listening? You find out that men do talk. When they know someone actually gives a damn, they open up.

That’s exactly what we’re doing at Liverpool Street Station on Friday 18th July. From 10am to 3pm, Dan and Len from the MANUP? team will be out in the thick of it. No banners. No soapbox. Just a mic and an honest conversation.

We’ll be asking men how they cope when life gets tough. What helps. What doesn’t? What they wish more people understood. Some blokes stop for five minutes. Some stay for an hour. Some walk past, then come back once they realise we’re not there to judge or fix. We’re there to listen. And that’s the whole point.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. Not every man wants to pour his heart out. Not every man wants therapy. However, every person needs the freedom to be themselves and the space to determine what works for them. That’s the message we’re trying to share, one honest chat at a time.

To our knowledge, we now hold the largest video archive of men talking about their mental health in the UK, maybe even the world. No scripts. No agenda. Just men, telling it straight. And these street interviews have become one of our most powerful tools. Not to go viral. But to remind people what genuine listening looks like.

So if you’re near Liverpool Street that day, come and say hello. Bring your mate. Or stop for a second and hear what others have to say. You might walk away thinking about your mental health differently. Or someone else’s.

Because men do talk.

The question is, are we listening?
