We’re not here for speeches or leaflets. We’re here to listen. Because when someone actually listens, men do talk.
On Thursday 22nd August, you’ll find Dan and Len from the MANUP? team in the heart of Cambridge. We’ll be out from 10am to 3pm, speaking to men on the street about what mental health really looks like for them. No agenda. No pressure. Just a chance to be heard.
This isn’t group therapy in disguise. It’s not about fixing anyone. It’s about giving men the space to say what they need to say, in their own words. Some talk about grief. Others about stress, anger, guilt or fatherhood. And some just talk about what keeps them sane when life gets loud.
Every conversation is different. That’s the point. Mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some blokes go to the gym. Others go quiet. Some talk to their mates. Others bottle it up because they think they’re not allowed to say how they really feel. We’re here to show that they can talk. And more importantly, that someone is ready to listen.
Over the last few years, we’ve built what we believe to be the largest video archive of men talking about their mental health in the UK. Possibly the world. These street conversations are raw, unscripted, and honest. They don’t always go the way you’d expect, but they always go somewhere real.
So if you’re in Cambridge on the 22nd, come find us. Bring a mate. Stop and listen. Or have your say. Whether you’re struggling, managing, or doing alright, your voice matters. And someone might just need to hear it.
Because men do talk.
Sometimes you just have to ask the right question and shut up long enough to hear the answer.
